Wonderful weekend in a hotel in the centre of Rotterdam

I just got back from a surprisingly fun and fascinating weekend in a Rotterdam hotel. I heard a lot about it but I didn't think Rotterdam would be that vibrant, that international! It's a city that accommodates 600.000 people and no less than 160 different nationalities. The Rotterdam region has a total of 1,2 million inhabitants. These people give Rotterdam the international atmosphere you feel everywhere you go. This global feeling is due to the fact that Rotterdam is situated on the water and for forty consecutive years has been the world’s largest port.

My hotel Rotterdam was not far from the industrial area, something I really really like. Others always go for hotels in Rotterdam that are located in a more quiet area or with lots more nature, but I prefer the business, the crowdiness, the transport, moterways and tramlines.

The city of Rotterdam has a host of great attractions to enjoy, and in addition it is in a perfect location for making side trips to Amsterdam to see the Museumplein, Dam Square, the Albert Cuypstraat Market, the Van Gogh Museum and more. Harbor tours of the Port of Rotterdam, however, are an absolute must if you spend any amount of time in the city, especially when you booked a stay of one or more nights in one of the many fine hotels in Rotterdam.

I really enjoyed my time there, the city is truly stunning, especially architecturally, I have never seen a city like this in the Netherlands and I don't think there is any. The hotel in Rotterdam was also nice, spacious rooms, clean bathroom, large breakfast and other meals and some good entertainment at the bar. When you went outside, you could see the famous Erasmus Bridge in the distance, making it one of the better located Rotterdam hotels!
